Running on

Henderson says he is running to refocus the board on classroom outcomes, improving math and reading performance and raising graduation rates, with more budget transparency. He has said the board should spend more attention on what happens in schools and less on City Hall politics. His campaign's stated theme is putting family and education first so every CPS student has the opportunity to succeed. At a WTTW forum in September 2026 he said he is neither for nor against school closures and that the district should first hear from communities about the best course.

Background
