Michael L. Neal
Chicago Board of Education, District 6b, on the Chicago ballot November 3, 2026.
Running on
Neal says he is running to keep a community voice at the board table, citing years volunteering in CPS classrooms, running a men's reading program, and serving on a local school council. He says his top priority would be a greater emphasis on early childhood literacy, and he has voiced support for CPS chief executive Macquline King.
Background
Senior pastor of Glorious Light Church in Bronzeville, which he launched in 2008, and founder and CEO of the Timothy Community Corporation, a nonprofit focused on health, leadership, and literacy; he serves as a parent representative on Kenwood Academy's local school council.
