Dominguez is campaigning on free full-day pre-K for every Chicago family starting at age 3, an overhaul of school meals, and new youth jobs and career pathway programs. He supports sustainable community schools and says the district should press state lawmakers for roughly 2 billion dollars in additional funding rather than make cuts, arguing CPS struggles because the state has not met its funding obligation. He also calls for preventing school closures, expanding support staff such as librarians, nurses, and social workers, and reducing class sizes.
Background
A CPS graduate and former CPS special education teacher of six years who most recently served as political director of the Chicago Teachers Union. He ran unsuccessfully for alderman in 2019.
