Running on
Preston is the only candidate on the 9a ballot. In a social media statement she said she would focus on improving literacy, expanding trade and career pathways, and making CPS "the most family-friendly school district in America." She did not return candidate questionnaires. She is endorsed by the SEIU Illinois State Council, The Urban Center, and the Common Ground Collective.
Background
Auburn Gresham resident and mother of six who previously ran a construction company with her husband, state Sen. Willie Preston. She was removed from the ballot in her 2024 school board run.
