Alexander Angeles

Chicago Board of Education, District 8b, on the Chicago ballot November 3, 2026. Declared write-in.

These names are not printed on the ballot. To vote for one, write the name in the blank write-in space for that office and fill in the oval (on a touchscreen, follow the write-in steps on screen). Votes count only for write-ins who filed a declaration. The Chicago Board of Elections does not post those names, so this list comes from the Cook County Clerk's list and campaign announcements; election judges at your polling place have the official one.

Running on

Declared write-in candidate; the name is not printed on the ballot. He joined the race at the end of August 2026 after incumbent Cydney Wallace was removed from the ballot, and says he is running to be a voice for students, citing their worries about district budget cuts, school lunches, and support from teachers. He says his platform aligns with the Chicago Teachers Union's, including opposition to school closures, and that he would seek compromise with other board members on divisive issues.

Background

Recent graduate of John Hancock College Prep, where he was a student member of the Local School Council, and a political science student at the University of Illinois Chicago; works as a cashier at McDonald's and an auto parts specialist at O'Reilly Auto Parts. Lives in West Lawn.
