On the ballot
- John Carroll (Democratic, Incumbent): Circuit judge appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court in 2025, formerly deputy chief of staff in the Illinois Attorney General's office and a Cook County assistant state's attorney (2000-2019); unopposed in the primary.
- Rachel Marrello (Democratic): Operations counsel at Cook County Health since 2022, previously an investigator for the Cook County Independent Inspector General (2010-2022); won the primary over Martin Douglas Reggi, 72.38% to 27.62%.
