His platform centers on economic growth through entrepreneurship and job programs for youth and adults, education from elementary school through trade schools and certification training, and safety through daily work with the 4th District police alongside resources to prevent re-incarceration. His campaign says that after his 15-year-old daughter Hadiya was killed by gun violence in 2013, he spent more than a decade advocating for safer neighborhoods and opportunities for young people.
