Running on

Filed nominating petitions on Oct. 19, 2026 to challenge Ald. Anthony Quezada, whom Mayor Brandon Johnson appointed to the seat in 2025. His campaign lists nine priorities: affordability through more housing, zoning reform, and a housing-first approach to homelessness; a city charter and budget transparency; simpler, faster permitting for small businesses; violence prevention, mental health resources, and accountable policing; protecting immigrant families; strong neighborhood schools and responsible CPS finances; independence at City Hall; November elections and ranked choice voting; and safer streets and better transit through Vision Zero and Complete Streets. Endorsed by VoteVets.

Background

Born in Medellín, Colombia, he came to the Chicago area at age 7. Army veteran who deployed to Iraq with the Illinois National Guard; University of Chicago law graduate and former ACLU fellow; entrepreneur who leads a business with operations in Colombia and founded a company serving the cannabis and hemp industry. Former Local School Council member at Kelvyn Park High School. In 2025 he and Quezada were the only two applicants with complete applications for the 35th Ward vacancy.
