Ramirez's campaign site says she is running on housing justice, healthcare for all, public education, community safety, community-centered economic development, and the rights of women and the LGBTQ+ community. Her issue pages say she supports Medicare for All and legislation to lower prescription drug costs, building affordable housing and protecting renters from corporate landlords, and a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants including permanent status for DACA recipients. She also lists co-leading the Dream and Promise Act and pushing comprehensive immigration reform.

She served in the Illinois House of Representatives for the 4th District from 2018 to 2023, where she was Majority Floor Leader, after 18 years in nonprofit leadership including chairing the boards of LUCHA and the Logan Square Neighborhood Association.
