Record
Appointed to the Circuit Court in 2001 and elected in 2002; since 2008 the supervising judge of the mortgage foreclosure and mechanic's lien section of the Chancery Division at the Daley Center. Injustice Watch reports that he is the longest-serving circuit judge on this year's retention ballot, and that after saying in December that this would be his last term if retained, he told Injustice Watch in August that he had "not really thought that much about retirement at this time." A judge stays on the bench with a yes from 60 percent of voters.

Regional counsel in Chicago for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, overseeing fair housing discrimination cases (1983-2001); earlier an attorney for Burlington Northern Railroad (1980-1983), an associate at Conklin & Adler (1979-1980), and an assistant U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Illinois (1975-1979).
