Ratings

Record

Appointed to the Circuit Court in 2010 and elected in 2014; serves in the Chancery Division, handling class actions, business disputes, injunctions, and public records requests. Injustice Watch reports that in a 2016 recording played at former Ald. Ed Burke's 2023 corruption trial, Burke, discussing her father, then Amtrak's board vice-chairman, said, "We made his daughter a judge here in Cook County"; she declined to comment. She was also one of three judges who withdrew from 2012 primary races against candidates favored by the Cook County Democratic Party and were then reappointed by the Illinois Supreme Court, and she told the Chicago Tribune, "I didn't make any deals." A judge stays on the bench with a yes from 60 percent of voters.
