Says housing affordability is the district's most pressing problem and supports lifting the state ban on rent control, a graduated income tax on high earners and corporations to fund schools and health care, labor protections, climate resilience, and protections for immigrant, LGBTQ and disabled residents. He defeated incumbent Rep. Jaime Andrade Jr. in the March 17 Democratic primary with about 56 percent of the vote.
