Griselda Romero
Governor & Lieutenant Governor, on the Chicago ballot November 3, 2026. Party: Green. Declared write-in.
These names are not printed on the ballot. To vote for one, write the name in the blank write-in space for that office and fill in the oval (on a touchscreen, follow the write-in steps on screen). Votes count only for write-ins who filed a declaration. The Chicago Board of Elections does not post those names, so this list comes from the Cook County Clerk's list and campaign announcements; election judges at your polling place have the official one.

Running on
Declared write-in candidate; the name is not printed on the ballot. Running with Eyde Arndell of Carbondale, a co-founder of the March for Medicare All. Romero says housing, health care, and fair wages are rights, wants to move money from military spending to needs at home, and backs mental health access, ballot access reform, and getting money out of politics. The Green ticket turned to a write-in campaign after falling short of the 25,000 petition signatures a new party needed for the ballot.
Background
